Poisonings Prompt California to Reassess Super-toxic Rodenticides
SACRAMENTO, Calif.— A new state analysis has documented super-toxic rat poisons in more than 85 percent of tested mountain lions, bobcats and protected Pacific fishers, prompting state regulators to open a new evaluation of whether to further restrict or ban the powerful toxins. Team Building While Helping the Environment
On November 14 the Felidae Team met 15 Wells Fargo staff members in the field to place a series of trail cameras in an area heavily trafficked by pumas and other wildlife. The volunteers were trained in detecting the presence of pumas by identifying scratch sites and paw prints and in mounting cameras placed to capture multiple images. K-12 School Program
On Nov. 13, 2018, Virginia Thomson, executive director of Felidae Conservation Fund, Bay Area Puma Project went to King’s Mountain Elementary School and spoke about mountain lions, the area’s apex predator.
